Many Ways to Be Engaged at StMS

Our Families are Engaged

We are an active school community. Our parents are involved in our classrooms, at our school events, and in our parish. Our parents also serve as parent ambassadors, speaking with prospective families and promoting the values of a Catholic education at St. Michael School. Our Parent Teacher Organization is an active and vital part of our school's social and fundraising program.

Our Students are Engaged

St. Michael School students all take an active part in service to their school, their parish, and their local community. Each grade level performs community service such as the Brown Bag Ministry,Mitten Trees, making blankets for the Gabriel Project, and independent Grade 8 projects based on the seven Corporal Works of Mercy. Grade 5 students serve as members of our Safety Patrol. Our Grade 6 students participate in Back Pack Buddies and Share Sunday, and our Grade 7 students organize and host our annual Veterans' Day Breakfast and volunteer with the Wounded Warrior Project. Students in Grade 8 also serve as student ambassadors, leading school tours during Open Houses. Students sing in the choir at weekly Mass, and are Altar servers, ushers and readers.

Our Teachers are Engaged

Teachers at St. Michael Catholic School are commited to their students, their colleagues, and to their profession as Catholic educators. They meet weekly in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) to discuss upcoming lessons and how to best integrate technology and the teachings of the Catholic faith. They enjoy many opportunities each year for professional devopment on and off campus, including onsite workshops and national conferences such as NCEA workshops and RenWeb's Power Conference. Many faculty members volunteer to lead clubs, serve as coaches, and chaperone at school dances and field trips.
