Welcome to the St. Michael School Media, Information & Technology Center, where we are happy to serve you! We are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Our media center is the heart of our school with literacy at its cornerstone. Centrally located on the main floor, it is a hub of learning. The media center supports a variety of student needs and interests.

Our library media program is designed to support the curriculum of St. Michael School. Students visit the media center for both circulation and media instruction. They learn how to locate, select, evaluate, and use media center resources for a variety of purposes, including research. Collaboration with classroom teachers enhances our program and provides students with point of need instruction that supports classroom curriculum.

Ongoing volunteer opportunities include shelving books, wrapping new books, repairing damaged books, and helping make displays. Training is provided. An online signup is used for scheduling, so volunteers commit to as much time as they are willing and able to give.

Please note that all media center volunteers must complete the Safe Environment Training and have a volunteer Level C certification. Classes are offered regularly at St. Michael the Archangel Church and through the Diocese.

If you are interested in volunteering in the media center, please contact Ginny Cline, media specialist, at 919-468-6150, ext. 206.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you in the media center!
