Admissions Process

Now Open: 
2023-2024 Online Application for New PreK- Grade 8 Students (including current StMS PreK students)

Note: there are two applications for the 2023-2024 school year. One application is for prospective Grade 1 - 8 students. The second application is for students applying for our full-day PreK or Kindergarten classes. Please ensure you are completing the correct application for your child. 

StMS does accept Rolling Applications throughout the school year. Please contact if you would like to inquire about applying for the current 2022-2023 school year as there are some seats available.  

Items to gather for the StMS Application: 
- Birth certificate
- Baptismal Certificate (if applicable)
- Recent Report Cards (if applicable): final from last school year & progress through this current year
- Educational test results and/or psycho-educational test results (for example, IEP, 504, or AIG gifted test results) --if applicable, these are required as part of the Admissions Process)
Standardized test scores  (required as part of the Admissions Process)
– Child's teacher's name and email address. Families will be prompted to enter their child's current teacher's name/email address so they can receive an StMS Recommendation Form, which will be sent to the email address entered once the application is submitted.  

St. Michael School will notify families if an assessment is requested for their child, including the time/day of the academic assessment.


Students applying to Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year must be 5 years old by August 31. Students will be accepted into Kindergarten on a conditional basis with full acceptance contingent upon displayed readiness on the Kindergarten entrance test and open seats.

Students applying to the full-day (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.) Pre-Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year must be 4 years old by August 31. StMS will have two full-day (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.) PreK classes for the 2023-2024 school year!  

At the time of registration, all new students seeking admission to St. Michael School are evaluated on various factors, such as current standardized test scores, a teacher recommendation, and report cards.

Online Re-Enrollment Information for Returning StMS Students

Grade K - Grade 7 Returning Students: Please complete your Online Re-enrollment between the first week of January  - January 23, 2023, according to the following steps listed here.

Click to access FACTS Family Portal:

Type SMA-NC in the District Code field.
Type in your username and password. If you have forgotten your username or password, please click on the link provided.
After logging in, click on the Family Information button in the left menu.
Click on the Enrollment/Re-enrollment button in order to Start Enrollment Packet for your child(ren).

Our online enrollment system will open with a link to the enrollment packet for your child(ren).  The online process should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and your information will be saved if you need to quit and come back later.

For current families, please review the St. Michael Stewardship Rate webpage for more information about the current criteria and how to apply. For current StMS Catholic families applying for the Steward Tuition Rate, the deadline to apply will be March 10, 2023.

Families who are moving into the parish from out of the area and are applying to St. Michael School are welcome to apply for the Catholic Steward Tuition Rate and should follow their own parish guidelines and submit their Pastor’s approval to the St. Michael Parish Office. 

Families applying to StMS School who are registered parishioners of St. Andrew Parish in Apex or Mother Teresa Mission in Morrisville are welcome to apply for the Catholic Steward Rate and should follow their own parish guidelines and submit their Pastor’s approval to the St. Michael Parish Office. New families applying to StMS who are registered in other diocesan parishes are welcome to apply by submitting a letter from their Pastor stating that they are eligible according to their Parish criteria and that their Pastor is willing to pay St. Michael the subsidy of $500 per year/per student.
